“ In August I had the pleasure of going back to Lochbay again for the third time and if you are a seafood lover you won't be disappointed. Lochbay is about a local as it get can. Excellent local seafood paired with lovely and experienced staff who have all worked there since the beginning. The atmosphere is very cosy as the restaurant has only 18 seats. Yes you have to book in advance. A real hidden gem in the heart of the lovely little village Stein. Would return in a heartbeat and thanks so much for that memorable experience. ”

The wine matching was really good too with my pal coming across two wines which he’d not heard of before. “ I had a wonderful dinner at Loch Bay. I emailed the restaurant for reservations and pre-paid for the meal using the link provided. The entire meal was seafood focused and featured things like oysters, scallops, langoustines, lobster, monkfish, and mussels. Every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. For dessert, we were able to choose between a warm almond tart with rhubarb and strawberry, blood orange sorbet, and lemon & ginger ice cream or a cheese plate. The warm almond tart was delicious! I would highly recommend making time to eat at Loch Bay Restaurant if you are visiting Isle of Skye. ”
“ Best. Dinner. Ever. Wow, wow, wow. It was my first experience with a Michelin Star restaurant, and *boom*. Reservations are an absolute must, and you pre-pay your meal; any beverages are paid at the time of service. Each course is deceptively small for each is so flavourful, so deserving to savoured, that it becomes quite a lot of food. To be honest, by the 5th course, i was about done but there was no way i would miss out on anything. The chef has given attention to every detail. The pottery is made on the Isle of Skye. The stones on which the clam shells hold a gratin of mussels - those stones were hand chiseled by the chef. Edible flowers added grace notes to several courses. If you can see the details on the menu, you'll notice some asterisks and those denote the seafood that is caught in Loch Bay. It is pricey but i consider it money well-spent for this once-in-a-lifetime treat. There is an adequate carpark to the right of the restaurant, considering there are only 6 tables. Easily accessible on paved road. ”
“ What an amazing experience! The staff were so welcoming to everyone who came! There are only a few tables and you NEED to make reservations well in advance- if you can, several days to weeks. Staff were so wonderful about explaining the intricacy of each dish and answering and further questions we had. We did not have a dish we didn’t enjoy. You aren’t rushed at all and can savor the meal and wine over several hours. Thanking the chef was also a treat! ”
